Terence Blacker is a highly respected writer of both adult novels and children's fiction. He has a weekly column for the Independent, and for Publishing News. His childhood ambition was to be a champion steeplechase jockey, but although he did try it after university, he rapidly moved on to bookselling, publishing, and finally found his vocation as a writer. He is passionate about football, and is also a singer-songwriter.
