Synopsis

'We are going,' said Annie, 'on a great cosmic journey. So listen up, Savers of Planet Earth, and prepare to meet the Universe.'

George's best friend Annie needs help. Her scientist father, Eric, is working on a space project - and it's all going wrong. A robot has landed on Mars, but is behaving very oddly. And now Annie has discovered something wierd on her dad's super-computer.

Is it a message from an alien? Could there be life out there? How do you find a planet in outer space? And if you could talk to aliens, what would you say?

What the critics say

Following the smash-hit success of the book George's Secret Key to the Universe, comes a second out-of-this- world adventure by Lucy and Stephen Hawkins. The gripping and funny adventure is interspersed with fascinating scientific facts about our universe, the planets in our solar system and beyond.
- Ilford Recorder

This is qnother roller-coaster ride in space for yound George and his friend Annie, from Lucy and Stephen Hawking, the father and daughter partnership who brought us the hugely successful George's Secret Key to the Universe. One again the story is packed with real scientific facts about the universe cleverly interwoven to make it easier for young minds to comprehend. The book also includes stand-alone factual snippets about manned space flight and lots more to keep the average nine-year-old interested.
- Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph

Not only is it a brilliant adventure story I didn't want to put down, but I learnt lots of scientific facts about the universe and enjoyed looking at the colour photos taken in space, too.
- Sebastian Westwood, 8 years old, First News

This book is a curious hybrid between an information book and a storybook, with both the characters and the plot subordinate to the authors' educational aims. It is speculative fiction at its mot grounded, resulting in a book that is worthy but unspectacular.
- Helen Power, INIS

...an effective marriage of story and facts about the cosmics.
