Random House Children's Books

Random House Children's Books is a company of the Random House Group Ltd. Merged with Transworld Children's books in November 2001, it ranks amongst the top 5 children's publishers in the UK.

The five Random House Children's Books hardback imprints (David Fickling, The Bodley Head, Jonathan Cape, Doubleday and Hutchinson) and two paperback imprints (Corgi and Red Fox) are proud to publish many fine writers and illustrators. Classic names in illustration include Quentin Blake, Helen Cooper, Shirley Hughes, John Burningham and Babette Cole, and we publish bestselling writers such as Jacqueline Wilson, Anne Fine, Michael Morpurgo, Philip Pullman and Roald Dahl amongst many others.

David Fickling Books is the first bi-continental children's publisher with books publishing simultaneously in the USA and the UK. Authors and illustrators on this list are: Peter Dickinson, Robin McKinley, Adele Geras, Jan Mark, Linda Newbery, Nick Sharratt and Philip Pullman.

Random House Children's Books also has a strong asscoiation with Andersen Press. Andersen Press is renowned for its authors and illustrators who include Tony Ross, Melvin Burgess and David McKee, whose multi-coloured patchwork elephant, Elmer, is hugely popular the world over. 

Random House Children's Books is owned by Bertelsmann, one of the world's largest media groups.

Imprints

Random House Children's Books has seven main imprints under its roof. Five of these produce hardback books: The Bodley Head, David Fickling Books, Doubleday, Hutchinson and Jonathan Cape. Our two paperback imprints are Corgi and Red Fox.

Within these imprints there are a variety of 'series' with specific identities, or aims… for example, geared towards a particular age group. Listed alongside are details of these series.

Flying Foxes
Ages 5
Where ideas take flight. Specifically aimed at KS1 of the National Curriculum.

Corgi Pups
